Experienced vintner Kristian Story has joined Sierra View General Contractor in Northern California. Mr. Story will be responsible for preconstruction and business development, expanding Sierra View’s considerable expertise in the hospitality and wine-making industries. A 1994 graduate of California Polytechnic University – San Luis Obispo, Mr. Story worked as a materials engineer and project/marketing manager for Kyocera America, Silicon Wireless, SEMX Corp and Enthone, before turning his attention to winemaking.
Mr. Story has been an assistant winemaker at St. Helena Winery and in 2007 founded Kristian Story Wines, where he was also winemaker from 2007–2014, specializing in Bordeaux and Burgundy varietals. He has served as both a ‘hands-on’ winery operations as well as business improvement consultant for wineries in Napa Valley, Sonoma Valley and the Sierra Foothills. He has worked as an insurance broker specializing in commercial insurance for the beer and wine industry, as well as Captive Insurance, Alternative Risk Programs and other commercial lines of insurance.
At Sierra View, Mr. Story brings his wide range of experience with wines and wineries, as well as his project management skills to project development and implementation. He will be interacting with new clients, maintaining relationships with existing clients, and overseeing planning and implementation of the company’s marketing strategies. Mr. Story will work closely with clients to ensure that the preconstruction services Sierra View provides are a seamless and integrated process that includes: conceptual budgets, environmental studies, planning, entitlements, design, permitting and value engineering. He is a member of Napa Valley Vintners and Family Winemakers of California.
